Steel beams known as “H-Beams” are rolled steel structures shaped like the letter “H.” They are produced as constructed units. Welding the flanges to the web results in the formation of the H-section. Compared to I-beams, H-beams feature thicker webs. H-beams are stronger because of their greater thickness.
